The Interventional Technologist I assists Physicians with minimally invasive image-guided procedures to diagnose monitor and treat simple to complex conditions defects and/or diseases without surgery. This position is intended for those who are gaining experience in Interventional Radiology or Invasive Cardiology or are experienced Imaging professionals who wish to begin a career in the discipline.
-Assists Providers in performing minimally invasive image-guided procedures including but not limited to cardiac catheterization electrophysiology angiography device implantation biopsies thrombectomy embolization and pain management. -Utilizes a variety of highly specialized radiologic equipment and techniques to perform a diverse range of diagnostic interventional and/or invasive procedures in accordance with established scope of practice guidelines. -Ensures procedures are performed safely and with the highest quality standards maintaining a consistent focus centric care. -Assists in preparing patients for on patient procedures and providing comfort. -Acts as a scrub tech while assisting Providers during procedures -Maintains a strict sterile field adhering to safety protocols. -Responds to inquiries from patients and family members provides clear information regarding diagnostic testing and expected result timelines. -Collaborates with team members across OU Health including Providers to provide exceptional patient care. -Conducts post-testing quality reviews to confirm that all required elements are completed documented and align with departmental and accreditation standards. -Transfers images and data to the appropriate electronic health system enters technical data/findings and prepares study for reporting by physician. -Performs quality control checks cleaning disinfecting and other equipment maintenance tasks per manufacturer instructions for use and other regulatory guidelines. -Assists with quality assurance audits and performance improvement tasks as requested. -Provides on-call clinical coverage outside regularly scheduled duty hours on weekdays weekends and holidays as assigned. -May support OU Health's academic partnerships by actively engaging in teaching of students in the radiologic program. -May serve as a departmental preceptor to provide instruction and mentorship to new or less experienced team members. -Assists with onboarding of new team members. -Performs other duties as assigned. null Weekends Required: On Call Required: Interview Type: Process Level Department Description: N/A
