Position Details: Position: Registered Dietitian Location: Elmhurst, NY 11373 Start Date: November 11, 2026 Contract Duration: 8 weeks
5 days per week, 8 hours per day (9:00 AM–5:00 PM) Hours: 40 hours per week Guaranteed Hours: Dependent on facility requirements
Screen and assess patients to determine nutritional needs and develop appropriate nutrition care plans. Provide nutrition education to patients and their families, including guidance on diet modifications and food-drug interactions. Review medical records, laboratory results, and relevant patient information to support nutritional care.
Collaborate with physicians regarding appropriate dietary modifications. Document nutrition assessments, diet instructions, and patient understanding in medical records. Modify patient menus as needed and provide follow-up care.
Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience; 2 years preferred. Graduate of an accredited college or university with a degree in Dietetics, Foods, or Nutrition. For acute care settings, active Registered Dietitian registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), subject to primary source verification.
AHA BLS certification preferred. Additional New York State certification requirements may apply to post-acute care assignments.
