BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI/MOAB, Traveler Competency Exam Skills Required: General ED
Cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, and basic ED knowledge of drips and med administration, procedural sedation, blood administration, cardiac medications Support on the Unit: ER tech– glucose checks, assisting with splinting Charge nurse: rarely takes an assignment Resource/Float Nurse (pending staffing) RT -24/7 ED Educator Security for safety 24/7 House Supervisor 24/7 Pharmacy 24/7: assists in codes Charting System/Equipment: EMR: Epic IV Pumps: Alaris Medication dispensing system: Pyxis Central and bedside Telemetry monitoring at the nursing station; no tele tech Floating: None Orientation: 1st day: NEO (badge, EPIC training if needed), meet with educator 3-4, 12-hr shift with a preceptor (on assigned shift) Traveler Telemetry Competency Required Required to be completed and passed prior to start.
