SimpliFi Interviews General Information: Beds: 19 (Staffing for 15 beds) Generalized ICU Separate Cardiac ICU There is not a stepdown unit

2 years of experience in Critical Care required Will accept a first-time traveler? Yes Permanent staff must wait 2 years before returning as a traveler Travelers cannot live within a 75-mile radius of the facility Patient Types: Respiratory Failure, GI Bleeds, DKA, Sepsis, CVA’s/TIA, Post-Arrest, ETOH, IVDA Complicated Post-operative Patients There is a pediatrics unit, but not a PICU – on rare occasions a pediatric patient may be admitted to this unit (PALS required) until they are able to stabilize/transfer or ship out Typically, this is an older child, but the unit can take 1-year old and up – staff is very supportive in this situation Do not offer: Trauma or Neuro May stabilize and transfer Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 (acuity dependent) Required

BLS ACLS PALS CPI or MOAB – must have prior to start CCRN (preferred) Skills required: Must have general ICU experience Invasive line management (CVP, A-lines) - may have to assist with beside central line insertions Insulin Drips, Critical care drips Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation, BiPap and Vent Management, Vapotherm Experience with drains, chest tubes Skills preferred: Balloon Pumps (not typically given to travelers), Temporary Pacemaker (preferred, usually given to staff) CRRT – not provided at this facility at this time Support on the Unit: CNA/HUC (Ratio: 1:15) - staffing dependent and not always available Charge nurse is free floating to be a resource Responds to codes/RRT Will assist with HUC duties when that support is not available Phlebotomy will do peripheral draws RT, 24/7 Intensivist in house 24/7 House Supervisor, 24/7 Charting System/Equipment: EPIC – (strongly preferred) BD Alaris IV Pumps Omnicell (medication dispensing) Monitors: Spacelabs Floating: CVICU - assignments excluded fresh (24 hours) post open-heart surgery.

Will be expected to take ICU overflow PCCU (Cardiac Stepdown) – floated based off census ED Holding – task RN – ICU overflow/holding Orientation: 2 days of NEO orientation – will include EPIC test 1 shift in the ICU Scheduling: Weekend rotation: every other Required call? No Holiday Expectations: holiday rotation required Approval of time off: up to 5 days – otherwise, must request manager approval If requesting a full week – must extend to accommodate a 13-week contract Shift times: 7a-7p; 7p-7a – cannot clock in until 7 minutes before shift starts Schedule cycle: 4 weeks Other notes or things you want us to check/verify?
