Nights 7P-7A, every other weekend NO Mandatory call requirement
BLS (AHA), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Unit Notes: *ALL SUBMITTALS MUST INCLUDE A UNEXPIRED COPY OF THE CANDIDATES DRIVES LICENSE* Unit LDR & MB (Cost Center 17) # of L&D Beds LDR 9 # of OR Suites Go to the OR & the OR team takes care of Mom & (prep mom & care for baby) - ciold have up to 26 patients begweeen units # of triage beds 3 # of Postpartum beds 13 # of births per day, per year Average 100/month (most deliveries M-Th) Do ratios follow AWHONN guidelines? "Yes sometimes have 1:2 in labor but not the norm 3 couplets or 7 with a post op" Required Certifications BLS, NRP FHM is not required for travelers Common diagnoses/Types of patients Try not to deliver below 36 but occas 35 weekers, then baby transferred.
Pitocin, Mag inlsuin is not common. Don't usually get high risk, NAS babies Experience or 'Must have' skills Prefer in a non-teachig environment because they do not have residents, fetal scalp electrodes, experience w/ different positions, prior use of Epic is a plus, Are RNs required to titrate drips? Common titratable &/or set drips Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Charge free each shift Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit?
PCT during the day try to have 1 on labor & 1 on MB, OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7? On call at night& anest on call & pediatric hospitalist on call. no neonatalogist RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) Only as needed Is there tele on this unit? Monitor Techs?
RNs read strips? EFM System Centricity Shifts & Scheduling 12's 7-730 Self-scheduling, block is not guaranteed (usually have anywhere from 8-10 RN's on days & 7-8 on nights, one less on weekends) most of nights is just inductions. not 1:1 labors (cervidel, cytotech & pit.) Weekend Requirement min of every 3rd, SS for both days & nights Holiday Requirement Oly if not enough staff Is there a call or standby requirement? possibly - Floating Requirements LD MB nursery but no travelers Scrub Color/Dress code hot pink Unit/Department specific orientation 2 shifts w/ a preceptor Guaranteed Hours: N/A
