REQUIRED ON ALL DARTMOUTH JOBS (NURSING AND ALLIED) All travelers must have 1 year of Level I Trauma experience within the last three years in a hospital with 300+ beds Mostly all medical variety of patients as opposed to surgical. Patients with acute or chronic illness such as: sepsis, various infectious processes, acute kidney injury or chronic kidney disease (hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis), diabetes, GI issues, fluid/electrolyte imbalances, alcohol withdrawal, liver disease, substance misuse, endocarditis, heart disease, skin/wound issues, acute and chronic respiratory illness including COPD, flu, pneumonia, and Cystic Fibrosis.
DH is a nationally recognized CF center and the adult patients requiring admission come to Medical Specialties. (1 East = 36 beds) (2/3 East = 25 beds)Required
- Chest tubes- Tubes- Drips such as Diltiazem, heparin, Lasix, insulin, or amiodarone- Lines/Tubes/drains for post-surgical patients- Trachs/Laryngectomies- Telemetry- Complex wounds- Central Lines – care and maintenance and blood draws
