Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: o General Medical; some Cardiac, Pneumonia, UTI, Chest Pain, fluid overload ? Patient Ratios: o RN: 1:4 o CNA: 1:8 ? Required Licensure &
o BLS, ACLS, NIHSS ? Skills required: o PCA, surgical drains, wound care, telemetry – cardiac rhythm interpretation, Cardizem/Amiodarone gtt experience (will accept without but must be comfortable to learn) ? Support within the Department: o CNA: Supports the RN by obtaining VS and blood glucose checks; assists with hourly safety rounds and ADLs. o Receptionist/HUC o Charge nurse: Charge Nurse is a free floating for the majority.
