Possible to float to Peds if needed POSITION PURPOSE: The NICU RN Staff Nurse at Salem Health is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide safe, quality healthcare with a family centered care approach to patients by stabilizing the family unit through safety and security. This nurse has a knowledge of growth and development and pathophysiology specific to neonates to assess, plan, teach, intervene, and evaluate appropriately. The NICU nurse is skilled in procedures and use of equipment specifically designed for this patient population. Experience 1. Minimum of one (2) year of acute care NICU RN Staff Nurse experience required. Licenses/ Certification/ Registration: 1. Current unencumbered licensure to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon. 2. BLS issued by the American Heart Association required.
NRP required (within 90 days)
STABLE required (within 12 months) Special knowledge, skills, & abilities : 1. Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical skills 2. Ability to work effectively under pressure and to use professional judgment in emergency situations. 3. Must have basic computer knowledge and keyboarding skills. 4. Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment. 5. Ability to serve as team leader. 6. Ability to communicate clearly and constructively-written and verbal. (Legible handwriting, accurate spelling, clear enunciation, well modulated voice) 7. Must have organizational and delegation skills. 8. Ability to work alongside or in conjunction with Interpretive Services.
