- BLS, NRP Hiring profile Requested Skill Set: breastfeeding support, strong communication skills Must have: IV insertion in preterm or term infants, Able to work independently with good assessment skills and knowledge of symptoms of declining health in preterm infants Advanced skills needed: Ability to care for and stabilize critically ill infants needing vent support, CPAP, UVC placement, surfactant administration, needle decompression, administer TPN, lipids Procedures performed on unit: Newborn resuscitation, intubation, umbilical line placement, surfactant administration, needle decompression, chest tube insertion, NG/OG feedings, Certifications Required: RN licensure, BLS, NRP Dress Code : (Required uniform)
