Infusion RN for busy outpatient clinic of comprehensive cancer center (research, transplant, chemo) with lab services, clinic and patient visits. Two APPS are in unit at all times. Work is typically geared toward travelers’ experience/background.
Charge nurse, resource nurse, and teach nurse on unit. EPIC documentation. 1st time traveler OK. 24 hours orientation. Grey or teal scrubs (not provided).
Certifications REQUIRED: BLS, CHEMO Cert Skills/Experience REQUIRED: Infusion Center; Chemotherapy (Administration of chemotherapy, Body fluid handling post Chemotherapy, Continuous Infusion of chemotherapy, IV push administration of chemotherapy, Management/disposal cytotoxic spills, Monitor chemotherapy, Recognize/ communicate abnormal lab values); IV/Therapy/Infusions (Accessing Ports, Antifungals, Antivirals, Blood/Blood product administration, Care and management of ports, Central line blood draw, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, Infusion pump management, Intravenous hydration/multivitamins, PICC line care, Starting IVs); Medications (Antiemetic, Antitumor, Antibiotic, Corticosteroids, Neupogen, Hormonal therapy) Skills/Experience Preferred: Outpatient oncology; Care of Patient with various types of cancer; Acute Tumor Lysis Syndrome (ATLS); Anaphylaxis; Extravasation injury; Hemorrhage; Sepsis; Spinal Cord Compression; Foley catheter insertion/management; Symptom Management (Alteration in skin and mucous membranes, Constipation/diarrhea, Nausea/vomiting, Neuropathy)
