Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: o Moderate to high acuity cardiac, pulmonary, renal, and medical patients. o CHF, strict I&Os, SVT, a-fib, a-flutter, NSTEMI, coronary artery disease, COPD exacerbations, cystic fibrosis, pneumonia, pleural effusions w/ thoras, respiratory failure, acute and chronic kidney failure, altered mental status, metabolic/electrolyte abnormalities, DM, anemia ? Patient Ratios: o 1:5 ? Required License, National Certification, Certs: o BLS, NIHSS ?
Skills required: o Continual bipap, high-flow nasal cannula, wound care (including dressing pressure injuries), surgical wound care, negative pressure dressing, interpreting cardiac rhythms, o Drips: Heparin, Lasix, Amiodarone o Prefer: charge experience and willingness to take on charge duties ? Support within the Department: o PCA/CNA o Unit Coordinator (secretary) o Charge RN takes patient assignment ?
