POSITION: Registered Nurse/ ED TCU/Observation Unit (PCU) SCHEDULING DETAILS AND CHARTING ==============================
Shift hours: 3x12s, 6:45p-7:15a
Charting: Epic experience required
Weekend Requirement: May be EOW or 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling block
RTO, Block & Special Scheduling Requests: ALL requests must be included with the submission.
Call off Policy: Facility is allowed to call off 1 shift per 2-weeks.
Holiday Requirement: Must work one holiday per 13-week contract.
Accept First-Time Travelers: No
Locals Accepted? Radius Rule: Yes, locals accepted. Refer to the Submittal Instructions for radius rule criteria.
Pending License Accepted: Yes, only if the candidate holds a single-state license from a non-compact state. Otherwise, submission must include an active Virginia State or Compact RN/LPN license. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS ======================= ACLS / BLS REQUIRED CLINICAL SKILLS ========================
Cardiac: Cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
IV/Line: IV therapy and phlebotomy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care and management, accessing/managing ports, PICC line management
Respiratory: Respiratory support via nasal cannula and oxygen administration, non-invasive airway management, Chest Tubes
Rapid Response/Isolation: Use of rapid response and code teams, maintaining isolation precautions
Medications: Heparin protocol, manage cardiac/vasoactive drips (no titration), IV insulin protocol (titrate), PCA
Additional: Experience in Cardiac Telemetry, ER Holding, PCU UNIT DETAILS AND FLOATING ==========================
Ratios: 1:5; contingent on hospital capacity as well as ED volume
Our ED Transitional Care Unit (TCU) is an ED owned 16 bed admission unit where med/surg or PCU level patients are held awaiting their inpatient bed assignment. In this unit, inpatient orders will be carried out and admission data bases are completed in preparation for their inpatient transfer.
