The intermediate care unit comprises of 18 beds and focuses on individuals who are experiencing severe, but usually non-life threatening issues requiring moderately complex assessments, moderately intensive therapies and interventions, and moderate levels of nursing vigilance. These patients encompass all types of general medical disease processes including post ischemic/hemorrhagic stroke, sepsis, cardiac, and respiratory.

Level 2 trauma center, Stroke accreditation, 800 inpatient bed hospital, 80 ER beds. The volume and pace required to work here are that of level 1 trauma center
