Certs Req: RN State License And/OR Compact State Licensure, BCLS, ACLS Pending License OK – Must be in hand prior to start This unit cares for patients that have been discharged from the medical center but are going to require 1+ week of physical therapy/ speech therapy/ occupational therapy. The nurse will care for 1:5 patients on days, and 1:5-6 patients on nights. These patients require daily care activities. The patients can include post-surgical patients, post stroke care, chf, and any patient that needs prolonged physical therapy. Very team-based care. You will work with the physical therapy team and care management team to plan for the patients discharge upon admission. - Responsible for their own IV insertions and lab draws during shifts
- May be floated to any like unit within the hospital at any time
- Must check email regularly for updates
- Although the department uses self-scheduling, the schedule is created 6 weeks in advance; incoming travelers may be joining after the upcoming 6–12 weeks are already set, limiting self-scheduling opportunities Patient Population Common patient types include:
