Stepdown Cardiac Neuro - Night s- Deaconess Midtown Clinical Interview NO LOCAL CANIDATES (40 MILE RADIUS RULE) Contract Length: 13 weeks Start: 5/18- Bi-weekly orientation Guaranteed hours: 36 Primary location: Midtown Shift Requirement: 12hr Nights 6:30-7 Float Requirement: First to float within skillset. Deaconess Newburgh (IN) campus (8 miles apart) & potential to float to Deaconess Henderson (KY 11 miles). 2 HR notice given for cross campus float.
Mid-shift float within same campus. Cross campus mid-shift float is unlikely but possible. On Call/Call Back Requirement: N/A Weekend/Holiday Requirement: Three weekends out of every six-week schedule.
Every other holiday. Required Certs to be attached upon submittal: Must have current active compact license. AHA BLS, AHA ACLS and NIHSS.
Minimum Experience REQUIRED: 2 solid years Stepdown + 1 travel contract OR 5 years of solid Stepdown if no travel experience Charting
Recent EPIC experience required (will be required to do a checkoff class) Patient Population: Post procedure cardiac (cath/stents/interventions, pacers, ICD, ablation), Identify/care of STEMI/NSTEMI, Carotid endarterectomy, Sepsis, Neuro (CVAs, seizures, possible TBI), DKA. Skillset: Tele/12-lead EKG interpretation (TRAVELERS REQUIRED TO PASS TELE TESTS), post heart cath care (fem./TR bands), initiate/titrate drips (Cardizem, Amio, cardene, nitro, Insulin, Heparin), NIHSS/strong neuro assessments, sepsis care, chest tubes, PIV insertion.
Must have strong assessment and critical thinking skills! Unit Information: 19 beds, blended unit (8 designated Stepdown bed, 11 MS/T) Ratio: Days 1:5-6; NOCs 1:4; CN will take patients. Stepdown RNs will take MS/T patients.

Scrub Colors: Navy blue scrubs - No competing health systems or agency logos * 3 call-ins can result in termination * Teaching hospital, may require precepting of students & new hires Covid-19 Vaccine Not Required -- Subject to change GSA hours are not guaranteed the week of Orientation.
Traveler is guaranteed set hours per week, except during holidays where unit is closed
