This Pediatric Respiratory Therapy Manager opportunity is based in Durham, North Carolina, a dynamic city in the heart of the Research Triangle. Durham is known for its thriving healthcare and academic communities, diverse neighborhoods, and welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. The city offers a vibrant downtown with restaurants, arts, and entertainment, as well as easy access to extensive parks, greenways, and nearby lakes.

With top-rated schools, a reasonable cost of living, and convenient access to Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and the greater Triangle region, Durham offers an appealing balance of professional opportunity and quality of life. The position is a 13-week temp-direct assignment overseeing pediatric respiratory therapy services in a modern, well-resourced hospital environment. You will join a collaborative, multidisciplinary care team that values clinical excellence, innovation, and patient-centered care.

The facility supports a broad range of pediatric acuity, providing exposure to complex respiratory cases across inpatient and critical care areas. As the Pediatric Respiratory Therapy Manager, you will provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight of pediatric respiratory therapy services. This includes supervising respiratory therapists, coordinating staffing and scheduling for 12-hour shifts (3 shifts per week anticipated), and ensuring appropriate coverage for high-acuity pediatric units and rapid response needs.

You will help shape clinical practice by supporting adherence to evidence-based protocols, maintaining regulatory and documentation standards, and fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Your typical day may include rounding with the care team, reviewing patient assignments, supporting therapists at the bedside with advanced ventilator management and non-invasive therapies, and collaborating with nursing and medical leadership on care plans and performance goals.

You may also participate in code and rapid response events, contribute to education and competency programs for staff, and assist with implementing new equipment or practice guidelines for pediatric respiratory care. The pediatric environment offers meaningful, hands-on work with patients and families navigating complex respiratory needs. You will have the opportunity to mentor a dedicated group of therapists, refine your leadership skills, and contribute to a supportive, team-oriented culture.

The schedule is designed around 12-hour shifts, with expected hours to be finalized, allowing for concentrated clinical involvement and a structured work-life rhythm. This role is ideal for an experienced pediatric RRT leader who wants to combine advanced clinical practice with impactful management responsibilities, all while working in a vibrant, growing city that offers a rich mix of professional and personal opportunities.
