Registered Respiratory Therapist jobs in Norfolk, VA let you deliver advanced respiratory care for adults and geriatric patients in a high-acuity hospital setting. You will work 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, managing 8 to 15 patients per shift in specialized units such as ICU, ED, trauma, cardiac, cardiac surgical, and progressive care. The facility is a large academic medical center and Level 1 trauma center, featuring a variety of specialized units including burns, neuro, vascular, cardiac, general medicine, and progressive ventilation ICUs.
You must wear Ceil blue or black scrubs, but all black attire is not permitted. There are no parking fees for staff. To qualify, you must hold a Virginia Registered Respiratory Therapist license and have at least two years of critical care experience.
Experience with ICU, ED, trauma, cardiac surgical, and IMCU/medical-surgical floors is required. Familiarity with Hamilton ventilators, high-flow oxygen devices, non-invasive ventilation, and bronchial hygiene equipment is preferred. You must also confirm prior employment within the system before submitting.
