  • Beds: 260-280
  • Will you accept a traveler with 1-year experience? 2 minimum
  • Will you accept a first-time traveler? Upon manager review with strong experience
  • Patient Types:
  • Pediatric Critical Care, Neonatal Critical Care, and general inpatient respiratory care
  • Must be prepared to care for NICU patients if the requisition calls for that - NRP cert required
  • Required
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist - RRT Required
  • manager will consider CRT based on experience
  • South Dakota RCP License (SDBMOE.gov) - prior to submittal - takes 30 days
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS. If working in NICU, must have NRP.

  • Critical Care, General respiratory care experience
  • Support on the Unit:
  • Charge RT/Respiratory Clinical Specialist 24/7
  • Supervisors, Manager, Director
  • Charting System:
  • EPIC (required)
  • Omnicell
  • Equipment:
  • Ventilators: Draeger V500 and Savina 300, 3100A Oscillator, Hamilton C1/MRI
  • ResMed APAP, CPAP, Bi-level
  • Airvo2 High flow devices, Cough Assist, Incourage vest, ABL90 Blood gas machines, IPV, Praxair iNO
  • Floating: If yes, where?
  • RT Coverage throughout hospital and ED
  • Will not float to other facilities, unless hired for that specifically
  • Orientation: (facility and unit)
  • Rapid City Hospital, Respiratory Care Department
  • Scheduling:
  • Weekend rotation: Every other
  • Will they be on call? If so, what is that schedule?
  • Generally, not unless its planned for events like the Rally at Rapid City Hospital.
  • Holiday Expectations: Work on holidays that fall within contract dates
  • Approval of time off? May request up to 7 days if department can accommodate, must extend contract if taking a full week off.
  • Approved time off does not waive contracted weekly hours. Travelers are expected to fulfill all guaranteed weekly hours. Travelers on extension contracts might be granted additional flexibility based on department needs
