Job Details Job Title: Educational Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) Location: Logan, WV Setting: School Pay Rate: Up to $35.00 / hour
Full-Time (35 hours/week) Contract Length: 2026-2027 School Year Candidate Type: Local and traveler friendly Preferred: Prior educational interpreting experience preferred.
Valid West Virginia educational interpreting registration/credential and qualified EIPA score (or RID/NIC certification) required. Responsibilities Provide high-quality American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation for deaf or hard-of-hearing students in general education, special education, and extracurricular school settings. Facilitate clear communication between students, peers, teachers, and school staff.
Adapt to varying communication modes (e.g., ASL, Pidgin Signed English, or total communication) based on student IEP specifications. Collaborate with classroom teachers, DHH specialists, and educational teams to ensure accessible learning environments. Maintain professional boundaries and adhere to ethical standards for educational interpreters.
