MaineGeneral Health is seeking a full-time Occupational Therapist to join our Rehabilitation team at the Gray Birch Long-Term Care Facility. Our highly skilled and welcoming therapy team provides coordinated care for Skilled and Long-Term Care residents, with a strong focus on quality outcomes, clinical excellence, and patient dignity. Evaluate each patient's ability to safely and independently perform daily living activities. Develop individualized treatment plans that promote independence, safety, and quality of life. Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, adaptive equipment, and discharge recommendations.
Supervise and delegate care provided by Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and rehabilitation support staff in accordance with state regulations and professional practice standards. Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, rehabilitation professionals, and caregivers to provide coordinated, patient-centered care. Assist with department staffing needs and support other MaineGeneral rehabilitation locations as needed.

Registered as an Occupational Therapist (OTR) by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) preferred. Valid Maine state driver’s license with acceptable driving record as defined by MGH policy required and Department of Transportation Annual Motor Vehicle Record Check - MaineGeneral Health required for employees assigned to cost center 147480 -Rehab Unit Occupational Therapy and 147470 -Rehab Unit Physical Therapy if determined they will operate a motor vehicle to conduct MaineGeneral Health business.
Maine Adult Protective Services Background Check required for ALL employees at Alzheimer's Care Center, Gray Birch, & The Inn at City Hall. Maine Background Criminal Check - Annual - MaineGeneral Health required for employees at Long Term Care. Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider preferred.
