Ability to start IVs is required. Patient ratio: approximately 1:5 Unit & Patient Population The General Medical Unit (GMU) is a stepdown unit caring for stepdown, oncology, and medical-surgical patients. The unit has approximately 29 beds and primarily serves adults and geriatric patients.
