Nights (4x12hr) Start Date: 10/27/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Step Down Unit in Morgantown, WV. This contract position offers an opportunity to work with higher acuity neuroscience patients while providing essential care in a progressive care environment. Key
Provide nursing care to patients in a Step Down Unit with a focus on neuroscience. Monitor and manage patients with conditions such as strokes, seizures, and craniotomies. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Administer medications and titrate drips as per physician orders. Participate in unit orientation and training to ensure familiarity with protocols and procedures.
Active RN license with a history of strong neuro experience. BLS and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred. Previous experience with stroke patients and familiarity with NIH implementation.
EPIC experience is required. COVID-19 vaccination required; exemptions must be documented. Unit Details: Unit 10 EAST (Neuro Stepdown & EMU - Epilepsy Monitoring Unit) with 31 total beds (25 Stepdown, 6 EMU).
Nurse:Patient ratio of 1:3 for Stepdown and 1:5-6 for EMU. Charge Nurse available 24/7 with nursing aids present (1:8-9 ratio). RT available 24/7; RN's are not required to have vent experience.
Tele monitoring is available; RN's do not need to read strips.
Nights: 3 shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or 2 shifts within a two-week period. Holiday rotation is expected.
