The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for performing delegated activities to support the operating room team in the care of the surgical patient.
- Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager Core Charge RN and Core Supervisor the Sterile Processing Technician prepares and delivers medical/surgical supplies instruments and equipment for surgical procedures. -The Sterile Processing Technician cleans packages and processes surgical equipment and instrumentation as well as maintains inventory and storage of supplies in the core. -The Sterile Processing Technician manages multiple computer applications to assist with sterilization tracking and processes. -Responsible to operate and troubleshoot power equipment to process instruments i.e. autoclaves washer disinfector ultrasonic cleaners.
