Surgical Technologist

(List Format) – Surgical Technician – CVOR at Altru (Grand Forks, ND)

• Serve as a CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) Technologist, specializing in heart and vascular surgical procedures.
• Organize and prepare surgical case set-up following standard operating procedures.
• Assist Registered Nurse with circulating duties, such as prepping patients, retrieving supplies, and printing images.
• Clean, assemble, operate, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment, including bronchoscopy and EGD equipment.
• Aid in orientation and training of second heart scrubs.
• Deliver patient care according to surgery diagnosis or procedure, using procedure cards and established hospital policies.
• Document changes to procedures on procedure cards after each case.
• Order and stock surgical supplies; print procedure cards; assist RN during on-call cases (Lab, Blood Bank, etc.).
• Participate in monitoring and measuring quality indicators and surgical outcomes.
• Serve as subject matter expert for vascular and endovascular procedures.
• Identify and communicate unique surgical techniques and instruments, including complex, life-saving devices and equipment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to meet department and organizational needs.

• Minimum 2 years of recent cardiovascular operating room experience required.
• Travel experience required; preferred candidates have completed at least 3 travel assignments.
• North Dakota license: Must be registered as Unlicensed Assistive Person, RN, or LPN.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
