Surgical Technologist

Surgical Technologist, Operating Room Open Heart. The position supports adult surgical patients in a cardiovascular operating room setting and requires open-heart and Level I trauma experience. The role includes daytime scheduling, on-call responsibilities, weekend rotation, and holiday coverage as needed.

Job Details Required

National Board for Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) certification; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; minimum of 2 years of cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) experience; open-heart surgical experience; Level I trauma experience; Electronic Health Record (EPIC) experience; required COVID-19 vaccination with medical, religious, or declination exemptions permitted; required influenza vaccination with medical or religious exemptions permitted.

Day shift consisting of 10-hour shifts and 40 hours per week, with 12 on-call days per week requiring a 30-minute response time, every third or fourth weekend, and holiday coverage as needed, including 2 of 3 major holidays.

Experience with coronary artery bypass graft procedures, aortic aneurysm repair, transcatheter aortic valve replacement, ventricular assist devices, mitral valve replacement, endovascular aortic repair, atrial septal defect repair, angioplasty and stenting, aseptic technique, radiation safety, sharps safety, specimen handling, isolation precautions, and universal surgical protocols. Additional Information: The role supports adult patients and may include care for patients with COVID-19.
