EducationMust have successfully completed an allied health education program in Cardiac ultrasound. Accreditation required within six (6) months after hire. ExperienceA minimum of one year of cardiac ultrasound experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
All experience levels will be considered. Equivalent Education and/or ExperienceA minimum of one year of cardiac ultrasound experience in a hospital clinical setting, ORSuccessful completion of an allied health education program in Cardiac ultrasound. Accreditation required within six (6) months after hire.
Certification/Registration/LicensureCardiac sonographers should be registered as a Sonographer by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) with current active status at the time of hire or must obtain within 6 (six) months of employment. Must have a current Healthcare Provider (BLS Level) CPR course completion card prior to hire and/or placement in job from one of the following:American Heart AssociationAmerican Red Cross RescuerMilitary Training Network.
Skills or Special Abilities:Must be able to operate various types of ultrasound equipment used in performing procedures. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of both normal and abnormal anatomy.
