MedNinjas is seeking an experienced Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner for an ongoing locum or locum-to-permanent assignment in Midlothian, Virginia. The provider will work three shifts per week in a busy outpatient urgent care setting treating patients of all ages. Assignment DetailsSchedule: Three shifts per weekHours: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PMSetting: 100% outpatient urgent carePatient population: Pediatric through geriatricPatient volume: Approximately 25 to 50 patients per dayWeekend coverage requiredNo callEMR: EpicStart: As soon as credentialedCredentialing timeframe: Approximately 60 to 90 daysTemporary privileges are not availableLocum-to-permanent opportunity availableRequired Skills and ProceduresThe provider must be comfortable independently performing:Simple, intermediate, and complex laceration repairSuturing and staplingIncision and drainage, including packingForeign-body removalMinor burn and skin-lesion careSplinting and castingJoint reductionOrthopedic and injury stabilizationX-ray interpretationEKG evaluationPoint-of-care lab interpretationRapid strep, flu, COVID-19, RSV, urinalysis, and glucose testingEpistaxis managementCerumen-impaction removalNebulizer treatmentsInitial emergency stabilizationHigher-acuity patients requiring advanced treatment will be transferred to an emergency department.
