Qualifications
✓Three year's experience in registration or scheduling in a healthcare environment
✓Good communication skills, computer/basic keyboard skills, telephone etiquette skills, and general knowledge of office machines including printers and scanners
✓Excellent customer service skills
✓Knowledge in basic medical terminology required
✓Coordinate and perform complex patient registration, scheduling, and access functions.
✓Schedule hospital procedures, clinic appointments, diagnostic services, and other patient services.
✓Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, eligibility, and authorization requirements.
✓Obtain and accurately document required patient and financial information.
✓Review referrals and orders to ensure appropriate documentation and scheduling requirements are met.
✓Resolve complex scheduling, registration, insurance, and patient access issues.
✓Serve as an escalation resource for Access Coordinators and other front-end staff.
✓Assist patients with questions regarding appointments, registration requirements, insurance, and hospital services.
✓Communicate with physicians, nurses, clinical departments, insurance companies, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient services.
✓Identify discrepancies or missing information and take appropriate steps to correct them.
✓Ensure accurate data entry into electronic medical records and scheduling/registration systems.
✓Assist with pre-registration and financial clearance activities when applicable.
✓Follow hospital policies, HIPAA requirements, payer guidelines, and regulatory standards.
✓Maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive patient information.
✓Monitor work queues and prioritize time-sensitive patient requests.
