The APP-Behavioral Oncology NCI works independently as well as part of the multidisciplinary team to diagnose, prescribe treatment, manage, and evaluate patient mental health concerns across the oncology care continuum. The APP provides mental health care to oncology patients with an emphasis on mental health prevention, promotion, maintenance and supportive care. This individual works independently in the inpatient and ambulatory environments as a consultation liaison mental health provider.
QualificationsRequired:Three years previous nursing experience in psychiatry or oncologyMaster DegreeRegistered Nurse AND Nurse Practitioner AND One of: PMHNP or PMHCNS Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist (PMHNP/ PMHCNS)Desired:Previous experience as a PMHNP/PMHCNS or PMHNP/PMHCNS in OncologyDoctorate DegreePsychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner OR Psychiatric Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist
