- Formulate and define system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding combined with an understanding of the applications used by the health system. Define end-user requirements and procedures prior to the implementation of their application areas. Identify problems and learn specific input and output requirements. Prepare workflow charts and diagrams to specify operations to be performed by equipment, computer programs as well as operations to be performed by personnel in using the system. May prepare time and cost estimates for completing projects. - Act as primary support contact for the application’s end-users
- Develop operational need to set the direction of the organization’s workflows
- Work closely with different divisional/functional heads within the organization to determine their information needs and problems
- Guide workflow design, building and testing the system and analyzing other technical issues
- Lead small to medium projects requiring clinical systems involvement
- Prepare general system flowcharts for present and proposed systems that portray the movement of work through the organizational elements
- Confer with management and advise status and progress of studies being conducted
- Maintain documentation of assigned projects and/or systems
- Provide assistance and training to end-user staff
