Administers the Audit Services function for the system. This includes the performance of audit risk analyses to identify exposure areas throughout the system, establish the scope of audit activity, determines audit priorities, plans and organizes departmental activity and effectively deploys audit staff.
Role PurposeThe Manager, Audit is responsible for the management and development of staff. Also primarily responsible for the development and execution of the Annual Audit Plan for BJC HealthCare. Requires direct interaction with all levels of staff throughout BJC, necessitating strong communication and coordination skills.
This position requires a CPA or CIA or CISA license. ResponsibilitiesManages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals. Manages daily activities of the Audit staff, including ensuring the staff has a good understanding of necessary audit concepts and procedures, determining audit priorities, establishing the scope of audit activities, deploying audit staff, and reviewing audit work performed by staff members for adequacy of coverage and soundness of judgment.
Assists in the development of the Annual Audit Plan, representing the Audit Services department at meetings and facilitating cooperation and collaboration across all BJC departments and organizations and at all levels within the organization, and stays continually abreast of relevant industry issues through independent research in order to identify and evaluate the impact of such information on BJC HealthCare. Participates on BJC teams or steering committees in order to identify areas of significant exposure and guide management on internal control issues to assist in resolving audit issues throughout BJC HealthCare.
