Performs procedures for patients and provides technical services and support . Join our team of experts and make a difference with UnityPoint Health. Responsibilities Clinical Excellence/Patient Care: Completes Mental Health Assessments on patients after admission. Provides milieu and skill building groups to patients and provides 1:1 supervision as needed. Assists patients with activities of daily living. Answers patient call lights. Assists with simple procedures as defined in work area. Takes and records vital signs and weights. Completes timely safety rounds on patients. Communicates therapeutically with patients to show support and concern. Assists with de-escalation interventions under the direction of an RN. Assists in maintaining a clean, orderly and safe environment. Performs procedures specific to the assigned area. Utilizes a holistic approach (considering physical, psych/social, spiritual, educational, safety, and related criteria) appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned service area. Assists in collection of urine specimens and labels all specimens in accordance with standards. Demonstrates ability to consistently meet the department work schedule. Demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer service. Balances team and individual responsibilities, objective and open to other’s views, gives and welcomes feedback, contributes to positive team goals, puts success of team above own interest. Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mental Health related field Required.

Previous healthcare and behavioral healthcare experience preferred. License(s)/Certification(s): Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons. Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain certification within three (3) months from date of hire.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Writes, reads, comprehends and speaks fluent English. Multicultural sensitivity. Microsoft Office – basic computer skills.

Customer/patient focused. Other: Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
