UofL Health – Brown Cancer Center is seeking a full-time (40 hours/week) Advanced Practice Provider (PA or Acute Care APRN) for its Blood Cancers, Cellular Therapeutics and Transplant (BCT) Program. The program has been recognized as high-performing in Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma by U. S.
News & World Report. This position primarily supports a high-acuity 16-bed inpatient specialty unit. As an academic institution, we are looking for a quick learner who prefers an academic setting and desires to stay well-informed on the latest updates in cancer treatment.
A physician assistant or acute care APRN is preferred. An APRN with prior oncology or BMT clinical experience may also be considered.
Patient Care: Conduct comprehensive physical and psychosocial assessments, formulate treatment plans, and manage symptoms/side effects for complex blood cancer patients. Clinical Duties: Detail-oriented, handle admissions, write prescriptions, interpret diagnostic tests, and manage the patient survivorship program/clinic. Collaboration: Participate in multidisciplinary conferences, maintain constant communication with collaborating physicians, and foster a team-oriented environment.
Research and
Support evidence-based nursing practices, participate in clinical research, and maintain professional certifications through ongoing academic learning. Key Skills and Core Competencies Clinical Judgement: Strong critical thinking, proactive problem-solving, and emotional intelligence in high-acuity environments. Professionalism: Exceptional communication skills, strict workplace ethics, time-management efficiency, and high organizational skills.
Additional
Minimum Requirements - Physician Assistant (PA) Graduate of an accredited PA program with current national certification. Current licensure in the state of Kentucky and/or Indiana. Current ACLS/BLS certifications.
Subspecialty or oncology experience is strongly preferred. Minimum Requirements - Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree from an accredited institution. Current licensure in the state of Kentucky as an APRN.
National certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or previous experience in the BMT or oncology field. Current, unrestricted DEA certificate. Current CPR and BLS certifications.
