When you join us as a Breast Navigator, you will be joining a dedicated team of professionals who deliver quality, value, and access in the 21st century and align all stakeholders- patients, providers, payors, and regulators to achieve the best clinical outcomes. You Will:Will direct patients to the appropriate resources or research issuesProvides nursing support to the breast Health Center by delivering biopsy recommendations based on interpretation by the breast radiologist.
Schedule's patients and manages post-biopsy complications. Notify the patient's physician or provider with positive biopsy results. Delivers the breast cancer diagnosis and is sensitive and timely manner to the patient.
Monitors in reviews policies and procedures related to the cancer navigation program. Monitors and maintains a cancer navigator related database to track and report needs for program development. Develop and maintain a profile of community resources for cancer patientsResearch and identify funding sources available for cancer patients such as community and intermittent sources (i.e., grants).
Promotes the program to assure access to patients in need of services. Coordinates and/or assists with development of annual reports, resource guidance, and other department publications. Reviews and implements are risk assessment tool for breast cancer patients (IBIS/TC; Ambry).
Assists with the tracking and monitoring of BI-RADS 4,5,6 with the breast tech aide; center accreditation standards, commission on cancer guidelines. You Are:Genuinely passionate about customer service and exercise sound judgement and an ability to remain professional in all situationsAble to demonstrate high level of attention to detail, excellent organizational skills and have the ability to multitaskAble to thrive in a fast-paced environment, have a knack for prioritizing work with a structured approach, and enjoy providing world class customer serviceTo Ensure Success In This Role, You Must Have:Prior clinical exposure in breast imaging as a technologist in mammography or sonography strongly preferredPrior experience as a breast navigator is preferredBreast Patient Navigator Certification preferredExperience working with a variety of contacts within and outside of the workplaceStrong project/program development and management experience preferredAbility to manage group processes and build effective working relationshipsKnowledge of the overall cancer disease process and treatment optionsDynamic and motivating teaching style in individual and group teaching settingsKnowledgeable an adult regarding styles in various teaching methods: Ability to deliver educational programs to staff and the communityStrong customer service and interpersonal skills including demonstrated strong physician relationsKnowledge of HIPPA regulations as they pertain to patient privacy and protected health informationStrong organizational skills and ability to work with a minimal amount of supervision and effectively establish work prioritiesSelf-motivated and proven ability to work both independently or effectively as a team with a variety of healthcare specialistsEffective problem-solving skills and ability to concentrate in multiple and varied tasksExcellent verbal and written communication skills including proficiency in public speakingExperience with multiple computer software programs including Microsoft office as well as PACS/RISAbility to develop materials involving graphics and tablesWe Offer: Comprehensive Medical, Dental and Vision coverages.
