About the Job We are seeking a full-time Cardiac/General Anesthesiologist to join our team at MedStar Washington Hospital Center (MWHC) . This unique opportunity offers a 50/50 mix of cardiac and general anesthesia, including complex cardiac procedures such as LVAD and heart transplant cases. As a quaternary care referral center and Level I Trauma Center, MedStar Washington provides anesthesia services across more than 40 clinical sites, including 30+ operating rooms, Endoscopy, the EP Lab, and L&D.
Plus, as a major teaching institution, we serve as a clinical training site for anesthesia residents, SAAs, and SRNAs, fostering a highly collaborative environment dedicated to exceptional patient care, education, and professional growth. Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical school. Completion of an accredited anesthesiology residency.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology by The American Board of Anesthesiology. Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in the state of practice. Fellowship training in Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology (completed or currently in progress) is required.
