Certifications
✓CEU’s may be Category 1 AMA or other approved noncategory 1 credit including those credits as approved by organizations such as ASE, SDMS, ARRT, or CCS that have content specific to echocardiography.
✓American Heart Association BLS
✓Current American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography® (ARDMS) registered certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
✓or Current Cardiac Credentialing International (CCI) registered certification as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
✓Physical/Environmental Requirements
✓This job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs.
✓There will be occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 – 100 lbs and sitting.
✓Constant use of hearing, sight and speech.
Qualifications
✓Extensive knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
✓Experienced in Transthoracic (M-mode, 2-D and 3D echocardiography, Strain, Stress Echo, Transesophageal Echo and Contrast Enhancement procedures.
✓Able to use Philips or other comparable ultrasound equipment
✓Ability to assist in performance of Echocardiography procedures.
✓Written and verbal English skills at a 12th grade level.
✓Formal echocardiography program with minimum of 2 years of combined didactic and scanning experience.
✓Must document at least 15 hours of CME’s of echocardiography-related CME over a period of 3 years and CME’s must be earned within the 3-year period prior to submission to the accrediting body.
✓Frequent use of smell and touch.
✓Frequent keyboard and telephone use.
✓Constant concentration and problem solving.
✓Ability to move echocardiography equipment to perform echocardiograms throughout the hospital.
