Job OverviewThe Cardiac Sonography Technologist has vast knowledge and skills to perform Adult Echocardiograms as well as Stress Echocardiograms independent of cardiologist supervision. Other cardiac areas of expertise are a plus including Pediatric Echo. The employee has an advance understanding of imaging techniques, disease processes, and is able to interpret qualitative and quantitative data as it pertains to the exam.
Provide leadership to prioritize work flow, reexamine questionable data, modify protocols, document findings, and evaluate staff competency. Reexamines questionable dataPerforms exams with technical accuracy and in a timely mannerIdentifies anatomical orientation on all required imagesCompletes communication of pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the examPositions patient appropriately to achieve quality diagnostic images. Verifies patient identification and documentationCommunicates with and educates the patient regarding pertinent information during all aspects of the examEnsures patient date integrityAccurately completes computer functions; editing, billing, status changes, etc.
