You’ll need
Education
✓High school diploma or GED required.
Qualifications
✓1–2 years of relevant experience, with an understanding of basic bookkeeping procedures.
✓Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and general computer functionality.
✓Basic understanding of insurance remittances, payments, denials, and related billing processes.
✓Ability to multitask effectively, prioritize responsibilities, and work well under time constraints.
✓Ability to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
✓Flexible and adaptable to changes in workflow, priorities, and departmental needs.
✓Ability to work independently while also working effectively as part of a team.
✓Must remain calm, courteous, and professional during all interactions with patients, visitors, and staff.
✓Reliable access to a vehicle for occasional local errands as required by the position.
✓Ability to operate a 10-key calculator by touch with accuracy.
Basic knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, insurance regulations, and business office procedures preferred.

About the role
The Patient Account Representative is responsible for verifying and posting accounts receivable transactions while following established procedures for processing receipts, cash, and other financial transactions. Prepares and reconciles bank deposits, maintains accurate records, and sorts and files documents following posting.
