Position: Casual Nursing Assistant Department: 3 Main Location: UPMC Passavant Shifts: 36 hours over a 6 week period Title and rate of pay will be determined based upon individual qualifications, experience, and education.

The minimum hourly starting rates for each level are as follows: Care Attendant: $18.19 Nursing Assistant: $18.59 Patient Care Technician: $18.99 Patient Care Technician, Senior: $19.19

Provide direct patient care under RN direction, including ADLs, vital signs, point-of-care testing, telemetry application, and specimen collection Assist with daily patient and unit needs (e.g., responding to call lights, meal delivery, patient transport, and basic activities) Maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient environment, following infection control and safety protocols Monitor patients and report changes, concerns, or equipment malfunctions promptly Document care accurately and complete clerical duties as needed Support unit operations by obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to support coordinated care Demonstrate professionalism by building positive relationships, accepting feedback, and seeking opportunities for growth Respond to emergent situations and provide patient supervision or companionship as appropriate Note: All competencies must be achieved.

High school diploma or equivalent. Successful completion of UPMC nursing assistant or EIC training program Knowledge of body mechanics and transfer techniques. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.

Access to medications is limited to the distribution of the medication to the nurse.
