✓New hires with Certified Coding Associate (CCA) certification by AHIMA, or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) by American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) must obtain RHIA, RHIT, CCS, COC, or CIC within one (1) year as a condition of continued employment in this job classification.
✓Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
Education
✓Associate's degree in health information management or a health-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.
Qualifications
✓Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding, CPT coding, diagnosis-related groups (DRG), and coding guidelines.
✓Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
✓Three (3) years of experience in coding, audit, or denials coordination.
