Key responsibilities include managing staffing assignments, coordinating case flow and room utilization, overseeing add-on and emergency surgeries, facilitating communication among surgeons, anesthesia, PACU, Sterile Processing, and nursing staff, and addressing operational issues that arise throughout the shift. The role serves as a clinical resource for staff, promotes patient safety and regulatory compliance, monitors throughput and turnover times, manages resource availability, and ensures continuity of operations while supporting staff development and maintaining a positive team environment.
Qualifications
Must have graduated from a nursing program. One (1) Year of OR nursing experience in a hospital setting is required. Current License in the state of Georgia as a registered nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
BLS and ACLS Certification is required. Must obtain certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross. Two (2) or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.
