Assumes shift responsibility and accountability for the planning and provision of direct and indirect nursing care to the patient, family, care partner and appropriate others. Coordinates multi-disciplinary team members, directs and facilitates nursing staff in obtaining safe, optimal health care outcomes. Supports activities that meet the facility vision, mission and goals.

PROVISION OF SERVICES Develops, implements, and evaluates an age-appropriate plan of care utilizing the nursing process, clinical skills, and patient education. Maintains professional behavior when dealing with issues or conflicts, utilizing appropriate resources, as needed. Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, families, visitors, and employees.
The RN will assess risks to patient safety and implement the appropriate precautions. The RN will comply with appropriate and approved standards, as outlined by the organization and accrediting agencies. The RN will comply with safety and injury prevention standards to minimize risk to self, co-workers, patients, and visitors.
The concepts of the patient centered care delivery model will provide the foundation for all nursing care. LEADERSHIP EXCELLENCE Utilizes the appropriate leadership skills in delegating and providing feedback concerning staff performance. Demonstrates initiative, a collaborative approach, and sound judgment in day to day management at the unit level.
OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE Manages the satisfaction of department outcomes to include patients, families, peers, employees, and physicians through effective communication and appropriate responsiveness to customer issues.
