Positions at Spencer Hospital are not affiliated with Avera; however, we collaborate to provide services to the communities we serve. Employment offers, if accepted, are exclusively with Spencer Hospital. Full-Time or Weekend Package positions qualify for hiring incentives paid out over a 3 year period.

A clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who prescribes, delegates, and coordinates patient care to the acutely ill patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Effectively interacts with patient, significant others, and other health team members, while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Assumes responsibility for the management of clinical and supportive activities and allocation of human resources of the unit on a designated shift.
Coaches and supports the team in accomplishing the unit and hospital mission. Ensures that care is delivered by those who are competent/trained to do so according to the patient population, level of technology required, complexity of care needs, and the age of the patient. Responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized nursing care for post-operative and acute care patients requiring hospitalization.
Assumes the responsibility for the outcome of nursing care during a specified work period. Collaborates with all available nursing personnel to provide total patient care. Must have knowledge of and utilize appropriate age-related patient protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients.
3 years RN in an acute care setting Previous Charge Nurse or Team Leader experience preferred Must be a caring communicator, flexible, able to multitask and be comfortable with technological systems IA RN license or compact state Must have or be willing to obtain upon hire BLS, ACLS, PEARS or PALS and NCI - inhouse certification available

Pay is 10% higher than base pay or without
