Charge RN – Surgical Trauma PCU/Critical Care & Burn Unit – Full-time, NightsBring your passion to Texas Health so we are Better + TogetherWork location: Texas Health Fort Worth, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104Work hours: Full-time, Night shift· Positions require 12‑hour shifts with rotating weekends and holidays. Team members may be placed on call for regularly scheduled shifts in response to census fluctuations.Department highlights:· Justin 5 is a 35‑bed Surgical Trauma Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and Burn Unit. On August 10, the unit will open with 18 surgical trauma PCU beds and 9 burn beds, with plans to expand to the full 35 beds later in the year. This unit provides higher‑acuity surgical trauma and burn care, including treatment in a dedicated hydrotherapy procedure room for the burn population. Although patient populations differ, this is one integrated unit, and staff are expected to work across both care areas. MAGNET facility Level I Trauma CenterPrimary Heart Attack Center PHACThe department prides itself in high performing staff with excellent critical thinking skillsSelf-Scheduling that helps with work/life balance as well as opportunities for educational and career growthRobust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership teamNurse to patient ratio 1: 3-4Here’s What You NeedNursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferredCurrent RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hireBCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterlyACLS – within 90 days of hire requiredTNCC or ATCN - within 12 months of hire preferredCPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire1-year experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting required2-year experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting preferredPCU experience preferred Burn unit experience a plusIn addition to the required qualifications, a successful RN willdemonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment.maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude toward patientspossess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalismhave basic computer skills using medical management application systemsWhat you will doThe Charge Nurse
