  • ResponsibilitiesNorton Children’s, affiliated with the University of Louisville School of Medicine, is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join a growing multidisciplinary program in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics and Autism within the Pediatric Neuroscience Center. This position is designed for a clinician who is passionate about outpatient care for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder, developmental behavioral disorders, and associated behavioral and mental health conditions, in close collaboration with developmental-behavioral pediatricians and pediatric subspecialists. The selected candidate will provide outpatient psychiatric care as part of an integrated team that includes developmental-behavioral pediatricians, child neurologists, child psychiatrists, pediatricians, psychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, nursing staff, and other allied professionals. The goal of this program is to deliver coordinated, family-centered care for children with autism and other developmental and behavioral conditions whose care is strengthened by embedded psychiatric expertise. This physician’s clinical work will be operationally based within the Division of Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics, while also holding an academic appointment in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. The role will include opportunities for teaching, interdisciplinary program development, and clinical collaboration across pediatric neuroscience and behavioral health services. Position details:
  • Provide primarily outpatient psychiatric evaluation and management for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, ADHD, behavior disorders, anxiety, mood disorders, and related mental health concerns.
  • Work in a highly collaborative setting alongside developmental-behavioral pediatricians, child neurologists, psychologists, therapists, nurses, and pediatric specialists.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary assessment, treatment planning, and longitudinal care for complex developmental-behavioral patients.
  • Contribute to the academic mission through teaching of medical students, residents, fellows, and other trainees, consistent with the model described in the current psychiatry recruitment material.
  • Share call responsibilities with other child psychiatry faculty. Shared call as approximately six-seven call weekends per year.
  • Help advance a team-based model of care within the Pediatric Neuroscience Center for children with autism and co-occurring psychiatric or behavioral needs. This is a unique opportunity joining a collaborative pediatric team specifically focused on children whose neurodevelopmental conditions intersect with behavioral and psychiatric complexity. QualificationsQualifications
  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship.
  • Kentucky medical license or eligibility for Kentucky licensure.
  • Strong interest in autism, developmental disabilities, and integrated outpatient pediatric behavioral health care.
  • Commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork, teaching, and academic collaboration.
