Sign-on Bonus and Relocation Assistance OfferedLocation: IV Room, Central Pharmacy - Main HospitalStatus: Full-timeSchedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pmGeneral DescriptionThe IV Room Clinical Pharmacist functions as a centralized clinical pharmacist with a focus on IV room production, workflow, and regulatory requirements. The primary responsibility for this position is direct oversight of IV room processes and personnel to maintain the highest levels of quality, accuracy, cleanliness, and productivity.

Activities include daily production management, product verification, technician oversight, policy and procedure development, annual competency building and facilitation, and maintaining regulatory requirements as pertains to all compounding areas, sterile and non-sterile. ResponsibilitiesPerforms all duties of a central pharmacistWorks closely with all hospital personnel to assure safe and efficient delivery of patient careLeads and maintains accountabilities for all IV room processes, procedures, and regulatory requirementsLeads Pharmacy IV room meeting, setting agendas with close communication with pharmacy managementCoordinates annual/semi-annual Aseptic Technique and IV Room process validationsMonitors and coordinates all IV room certification and validation requirements (monthly viable sampling & 6-month recertifications)Serves as an authoritative resource on pertinent USP chapters and all compounding requirements, processes, and proceduresCoordinates all IV sterile preparation and non-sterile compounding trainingDevelops and provides annual education and competencies for all sterile and non-sterile compounding settingsReceive and/or maintain a Texas preceptor licenseServes as a preceptor for Pharmacy Residents and StudentsLeads and coordinates quality improvement and integrates best practices into all sterile and non-sterile compounding processes and proceduresCoordinates and supports EPIC builds and updates as pertains to sterile and non-sterile compounding processesMaintains and updates all compounding recipes within CNRServes as an Administrator/Superuser for the BAXA pump and Abacus softwareRemains current on all IV room and non-sterile compounding best practices and regulatory requirements through on-going professional developmentQualificationsA Bachelor’s degree or Doctorate in pharmacy from an accredited college of pharmacyTexas pharmacist licenseIV Certification preferred1-3 years of hospital pharmacy practice experience preferred but not requiredCompensation & BenefitsFor a detailed overview of our benefits, visit: Driscoll Children's Hospital Employee Benefits.
