Prepare, dispense, and distribute medications. Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and other pharmacy employees. Provide on-the-job training to new personnel and assist in evaluating the progress of new employees.
Receive prescriptions, complete data entry of prescription orders in the pharmacy dispensing software, and adjudicate third-party insurance claims. Prepare and label prescriptions consistent with state and federal labeling guidelines. Conduct point-of-sale transactions that require proper cash handling, offer patient counseling, and comply with all out-window procedures for patient safety.
Answer telephones and handle calls that do not require the personal attention of a pharmacist. Deliver quality customer service in all interactions with patients. May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Must apply prior to hire for Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern licensure by the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
