The Community Relations Coordinator is responsible for coordinating activities that build goodwill, strengthen community partnerships, and support Southwell’s mission, organizational priorities, and health and wellness initiatives. Plans and promotes community events and outreach efforts, represents the organization in the community, and collaborates with Marketing and Public Relations leadership, organizational leaders, physicians, departments, and service lines.
* Coordinates the planning, promotion, and logistical details of community events, lectures, conferences, meetings, fundraising activities, and other special events * Fosters goodwill by developing and maintaining relationships with government agencies, schools, churches, civic and nonprofit organizations, chambers of commerce, and key stakeholders. * Serves as a representative and ambassador at community events, meetings, civic functions, boards, committees, and other external activities * Identifies and develops community partnerships, outreach, and engagement opportunities that support organizational priorities, health and wellness initiatives, and community needs. * Evaluates sponsorship, donation, and partnership opportunities and makes recommendations based on community impact, organizational priorities, available resources, and brand alignment. * Coordinates organizational participation in community events, sponsorships, exhibits, health fairs, educational programs, volunteer activities, and other outreach efforts. * Collaborates with organizational leaders, physicians, departments, and service lines to support community outreach initiatives, programs, speakers, and resources. * Develops and implements community relations, outreach, and promotional plans in collaboration with Marketing and Public Relations leadership. * Monitors community needs, issues, and opportunities, supports community benefit documentation, and ensures community relations activities appropriately represent the organization’s mission, values, and brand. * Keeps abreast of pertinent federal, and state regulations and laws and Tift Regional Health System, Inc.
(“TRHS”) policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified. * Understands and adheres to: TRHS’ compliance standards as they appear in TRHS’s Corporate Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy; and HIPAA and TRHS policies regarding privacy and security of protected health information. * Demonstrates the ability to perform tasks that meet the age-specific requirements of the persons, patients, vendors, and staff that the employee is charged to interact with as required by the position. * Offers suggestions on ways to improve operations of department and reduce costs. * Attends all mandatory education programs. * Improves self-knowledge through voluntarily attending continuing education/certification classes. * Maintains required competency levels as identified in written exams, skills checklists, skills labs, annual safety and health requirements as well as service excellence education hours requirements. * Cross-trains in order to better assist co-workers and to provide maximum efficiency in the department. * Volunteers/participates on hospital committees, functions, and department projects. * Manages resources effectively. * Reports equipment in need of repair in order to extend life of equipment and removes malfunctioning equipment out of service with timely reporting to the appropriate personnel. * Makes good use of time so as to not create needless overtime. * Other duties as assigned.
* Bachelor's Degree Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, media, business or a related field preferred. OTHER INFORMATION: Minimum of one to two years of relevant professional experience in communications, public relations, marketing, community relations, media, event coordination or a related field.
