You’ll need
Licensure
✓Must maintain appropriate licensure through the New York State Department of Health .
✓Must work under the direct supervision of a licensed Radiologic Technologist.
Certifications
✓Graduate of an ARRT-approved School of Radiologic Technology, or verification from an ARRT-approved program confirming completion and scheduled graduation date.
✓Technologists hired prior to graduation will work under the indirect supervision of an ARRT-certified Diagnostic Technologist until degree completion is verified.
✓ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist required.
✓Must obtain ARRT Radiography certification within:
✓6 months of hire for Diagnostic Technologists hired on or after January 1, 2025 .
✓12 months of hire or transfer for Diagnostic Technologists hired prior to January 1, 2025 .
✓ARRT Certification required.
✓Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required.
Qualifications
✓CPR certification must meet American Heart Association (AHA) standards and include both didactic and skills demonstration components within 30 days of hire .
✓Technologists may not work in an outpatient setting until ARRT certification has been obtained .
✓Must hold certification through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) .
✓Individuals practicing under a temporary permit:
✓Must obtain ARRT certification within 180 days of the permit issuance date.
✓Temporary permits expire 180 days from issuance, upon denial of the license application, or 10 days after notification of failure of the licensing examination, whichever occurs firs
