Director, Cardiac & Vascular Service LinePosition SummaryThe Director, Cardiac & Vascular Service Line provides strategic, operational, financial, and clinical leadership for the comprehensive cardiovascular service line at Christian Hospital. This leader is responsible for advancing program growth, operational excellence, quality outcomes, physician alignment, and patient experience across all cardiac and vascular services.

Areas of responsibility include the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories, Electrophysiology (EP) and Device Services, Structural Heart Program, Vascular and Thrombectomy Services, Echocardiography, EKG Services, Cardiac Rehabilitation/Wellness, Noninvasive Cardiac Diagnostics, and related cardiovascular specialty programs. The Director serves as a key liaison between hospital administration, physicians, and clinical teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based cardiovascular care while supporting organizational growth and market differentiation.

This role collaborates closely with cardiovascular physicians, nursing leadership, ancillary departments, and executive leadership to develop and execute service line strategy, optimize clinical performance, expand access to care, and ensure the implementation of innovative technologies and best practices. News adult methodology ranks clinical specialties and rates common care procedures and conditions. Christian was nationally ranked as “high performing” in the clinical specialty of geriatrics and in the following seven of 21 common procedures and conditions: heart attack, heart failure, kidney failure, diabetes, COPD, pneumonia and stroke. High performing in a specialty means we were in the top 10% nationally of all evaluated hospitals for that specialty or procedure and condition.

Northwest HealthCare, six miles west of Christian, offers 24- hour emergency care, the Sleep Disorders Center and a variety of outpatient diagnostic and imaging services. The Nursing Administration oversees the various Nursing departments and provides clerical support.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Program DevelopmentDevelop and execute the strategic vision for the Cardiac & Vascular Service Line, aligning program goals with organizational priorities. Partner with cardiovascular physicians and hospital leadership to identify growth opportunities, expand service offerings, and strengthen market position. Lead business development initiatives for interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, structural heart, vascular, and noninvasive cardiovascular services.

Evaluate emerging technologies, clinical advancements, and industry trends to ensure the service line remains a regional leader in cardiovascular care. Operational ExcellenceProvide leadership and oversight for all cardiovascular service line operations, ensuring efficient patient flow, resource utilization, and high-quality care delivery. Standardize processes and implement performance improvement initiatives to enhance safety, quality, patient satisfaction, and operational effectiveness.

Collaborate with department leaders and interdisciplinary teams to create a seamless continuum of cardiovascular care across inpatient and outpatient settings. Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards. Financial ManagementDirect the financial performance of the service line, including budgeting, productivity management, capital planning, revenue optimization, and expense control.

Monitor key financial and operational metrics including volume growth, profitability, market share, resource utilization, and physician referral patterns. Develop and implement action plans to improve financial performance while maintaining exceptional clinical outcomes. Physician & Stakeholder EngagementServe as the primary administrative partner and liaison for cardiovascular physicians.

Foster strong physician relationships through collaboration, transparency, and shared accountability for quality, growth, and operational performance. Partner with medical directors and physician leaders to achieve service line goals and optimize program performance. Quality & Clinical OutcomesDrive initiatives that improve patient outcomes, safety, quality metrics, and patient experience.

Promote evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement across all cardiovascular programs. Monitor national benchmarking data and performance indicators to achieve and sustain top-tier clinical outcomes. People LeadershipLead, mentor, and develop leaders, managers, and clinical teams within the cardiovascular service line.

Oversee recruitment, onboarding, performance management, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and professional development. Minimum RequirementsEducationBachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.

ExperienceSeven (7) or more years of progressive healthcare leadership experience within cardiovascular services, cath lab, electrophysiology, vascular services, or a related specialty. Demonstrated experience managing complex clinical operations and healthcare financial performance. Leadership ExperienceFive (5) or more years of leadership experience with responsibility for managing leaders, clinical teams, and operational performance.

EducationMaster's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field. ExperienceExperience leading a comprehensive cardiovascular service line within an acute care hospital or integrated health system. Experience leading hospital service line strategy and growth initatives.

Demonstrated success in physician partnership, program growth, and service line strategy development.
